Terms and conditions for the online retail store Design My World. Including Delivery, Cancellation,Returns, Commisioned Items, Breakages, Missing Items/Items that never arrive,Incorrect or incomplete address, failing to respond to courier dispatch notes,Items missing from order,WEEE Regulations ,Privacy & Cookies and Complaints.
Delivery - Most orders are dispatched the next day within the UK. Either by Royal Mail first or second class 2-4 days or Courier service which include UPS, DPD, YODEL, HERMES and COLLECT PLUS 24-72 hour delivery service. On other occasions you should receive your goods within 7-21 working days. All other services are tracked, Orders that require Next Day Delivery must be made before 12:30pm on the day you order. In the event that an item proves to be very popular due to media coverage or with busy periods like Christmas this can take longer. If your order has been sent Royal Mail first class please be aware that we cannot track it. All other services are trackable. Delivery to different countries will come with differing delivery costs. Some larger items like Bean Bags and furniture will need specialist couriers which may incur extra costs for the buyer. We will help as much as we can to get the cheapest courier services but cannot guarantee any prices. Some of our products are only available in the UK and Europe. We will make this clear on their own detail pages on our website.
Delivery to the EU
From January 2021 all orders from the EU block of nations will be subject to local customs duties and taxes in each of their respective countries. Each country of the EU will have their own rates of taxes. Please note that Design My World ltd will not be responsible or liable for any local taxes or duties payable in the EU on delivery of any order. The customer will be liable to make these payments. Returns from the EU may incur duties and taxes coming back into the UK. These costs will also be bourn by the customer sending back the items.
Cancellation - you have the right to cancel a contract within ten days - starting from the day after you take delivery of the goods (a "cooling off" period). You have the right to cancel for any reason without penalty unless the item (s) are made to order according to a client's own specification. Made to order or commissioned status will be represented on the product page. Non-stock goods specially ordered or made to customer specifications cannot be cancelled. These conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
If you wish to cancel a contract, please write to us, or email at firstname.lastname@example.org clearly stating your full details, invoice number and cancellation instructions. To cancel the contract, you must give us notice within seven working days starting from the day after you take delivery of the order. These conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
Once you have cancelled the contract, you have a legal "duty of care" to take good care of the goods. You must return the goods to us at your expense to the address below - we would advise that you use a recorded-delivery service for small items and an insured courier service for larger items. Please be aware that Royal Mail Recorded Delivery will only offer compensation up to £34 should a package not be delivered and therefore must not be used for returning any items of a higher value. Please mark all parcels clearly with your ( order) number.
Returns - If an item (excluding those which are individually made to order or are commissioned items), proves to be unsuitable you may return it within 14 working days unused, with the original packaging and in re-saleable condition, you must exercise reasonable care when returning the goods. You may select either a replacement or refund for the item. As we cannot be responsible for any returned items lost or damaged in the post, we strongly advise that an insured, tracked delivery method is used to return goods. Please be aware that Royal Mail Recorded Delivery will only offer compensation up to £34 should a package not be delivered and therefore must not be used for returning any items of a higher value. We do not refund the cost of return postage or postage and packaging for the original order. This is in addition to your statutory rights. For larger items like bean bags and furniture we can arrange return delivery but do not cover the cost.
Bean Bags - If you want to return your bean bag please be aware that if you use our service there will be a pickup charge of £22.50 per bean bag. We will pick the bean bag up and deliver it back to our warehouse. If you want an exchange there is a £10 delivery charge per bean bag.
Commissioned items - Commissioned items or made to order items are not returnable and non-refundable. Please be certain of your order before making the final decision as we cannot accept returns on these items. These items will be clearly marked in the description field of the product detail page on our webstore.
Breakages - Please inform us of any damages/breakage within two working days of receiving the item (s). Items that have been damaged while in transit to you will be replaced at no extra cost. We will replace any light bulb free of charge if it discontinues to work within 1 week of normal usage.
Missing Items/Items that never arrive -Please inform us within 30 days if an item fails to arrive. We can track most items with a tracking number. If an Item has been sent via Royal Mail First class we won't be able to track this item.
Incorrect or incomplete address, failing to respond to courier dispatch notes-In the event that an incorrect, incomplete address has been given by the customer upon which the parcel gets rejected or returned to our premises or in the event that a customer fails to respond to a dispatch note left by the courier company and the customer wishes their purchase to be re-sent, we may have to charge extra postage costs to the customer.
Items missing from order -If an item is missing from your order, please keep the original packaging in which your order was sent together with any postal labels and documents.
UK Regulations -All products comply with UK & EU regulations, all products come with an EU Warranty for defects for an one year period. These conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
WEEE Regulations - Recycling of electrical and electronic equipment
Since 1 July 2007, the UK’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations allow members of the public to deposit old electrical and electronic items at recycling sites across the UK, free of charge.
